“The stand” in 1895-1896 Wilmington

 |

Newspapers in Wilmington, NC featured regular updates on the Syrian (Lebanese) immigrant community in the small town. The “stand” referred to in both articles is a peddler’s stand where foodstuffs, fresh produce or goods were sold.

We are in the process of uploading many more newspaper clippings from around the state. Look back at the archive soon for the collection!
